In September 2003 Signal reached its 100th and final issue.
Although Signal ceases publication in 2003, the Thimble Press will continue to supply its other existing titles (including back issues of Signal) and to produce occasional new publications.

Aidan Chambers won the 2002 Hans Christian Andersen Author Award, Quentin Blake being the winner of Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustrators.
Aidan has published several acclaimed books for young audiences as well as works on children's reading and children's literary criticism. Together with Nancy Chambers he is co-founder of The Thimble Press and Signal, both of which are indebted to his continuing commitment.
